Get to know me

Born in Zanzibar, Tanzania,in 1967 of Goan origin (Goa/India) and now living in France, I grew up in Dar es Salaam / Tanzania, where my passion for art began at a very young age. Basically a self taught artist, I always enjoyed drawing, painting, winning school art competitions and others. As I kept growing, my passion for art intensified. Initially I took an interest in rendering the subtle expression of people faces, later inspiring my imagination while painting animals and landscapes and abstracts… in a classical and realistic way, while seeing and feeling beauty, life and movement around me, with an occasional touch of expressionist fantasy.

My works reflect the above, creating different styles, subjects and using different techniques or materials like oil, acrylic, sanguine and charcoal, allows me to express my emotions and feelings according to my current mood through my paintings as best as possible.

Having had the opportunity to travel around the world, those experiences where extremely enriching and instructive. It was amazing to discover so many other cultures and lifestyles. This gave me the opportunity to exhibit my works in various countries which had and have been seen in private collections in Tanzania, USA, Grenada (Caribbean), Brazil, France, Switzerland, Luxembourg. And also had and have been exhibited in numerous galleries and halls in Tanzania, Grenada, France, Spain, Portugal, Germany and Belgium, and it has been an honour for me that some of my artworks have won prizes and recognition including 1 Gold Medal (National) and 2 Silver Medals (International) from the European Academy of Arts of Gembloux in Belgium and a Bronze medal from the Academy of Arts, Sciences and Letters of Paris in France. … among others …

Sometimes it can be difficult for someone to find the right piece of art ; one that would suit us best, one that would bring beauty, peace and joy into our stressful day to day life by allowing us to escape for a moment, simply by looking at it.
It is in this perspective that I offer you my services.
I accept orders for portraits, figuratives, animal,… done after a photographe - resemblance guaranteed. Or your idea(s) that could be transformed into a painting. Feel free to contact me.
